Apple has a patent that will allow it to create digital clones of its customers as decoys to prevent individuals having their online identities tracked or stolen by data mining software. By making multiple clones of an individual and infusing each clone with additional characteristics, Apple hopes to be able to ensure its customers’ real identities remain safe. As with any Apple patent however, this may or may not be implemented by the company. Does this remind anybody of Michael Keaton in Multiplicity?
