Given the recent concerns about projects reaching and exceeding their funding goals but failing to deliver on time, Kickstarter has began to implement some changes to its terms. It wants people to know that it’s not running a store and doesn’t want people to think they’re buying something at a store.
Additionally it wants a greater accountability from project initiators so contributors would know better what they will be going in for when they sign up to contribute. Aside from having to disclose initiators’ ability to complete the proposed project, products must be shown as is. No rendering, no simulation of future abilities. Everything has to be at current stage of development.
